planting on a hill

Yesterday after pruning back the bushes, Jenni and I went shopping and bought some flowers. I found a nice big pink azalea that was half price (past bloom) and we brought them home to plant. One should think about the work it will take to plant plants before one buys them or keeps buying them. I had to dig up a huge hosta that was in the best place for the azalea. It divided into 7 big pieces and we found places for them on the hillside behind the house. It is very hard to dig a big hole in the side of a hill, especially where the topsoil isn't very think. The hostas are fairly shallowly rooted so they weren't a problem, but the azalea took a while. Jenni took care of all the planting in the front yard and was much quicker about it all.

Babies take their time finding a day to be born. It has been nice to have time here with Luanna learning the patterns. Isaac let me change his diaper and put on his pajamas and brush his teeth. And he was eager to get in bed to get away from me. We will manage.
