Edna Davidson 1911 ~ 2008 Edna Davidson died Friday, November 28, 2008, at home in Henderson, Nevada.Edna was born January 17, 1911, in Rockland, Idaho to John Henry and Sarah Draper Remington. She graduated from Granite High School in 1929 and, during the Depression, worked as an office manager for the S.H. Kress Store on Main Street in downtown Salt Lake City. She married Willard M. Davidson, Jan. 16, 1935, in the Salt Lake Temple. Edna Davidson dedicated her life to the service of others. She served in many teaching and leadership positions in the LDS Church. When her sons and daughters became college and missionary age, to help meet those new expenses, she went to work at the small, one-rented-room, Granite Teachers Credit Union. Through tough-mindedness, disciplined hard work, and compassionate customer service, she and Carl Stott built a talented and creative staff as the small Teachers Credit Union grew and expanded into Granite Credit Union and progressed toward becoming the large and significant financial institution in the Salt Lake Valley that it is today. Edna Davidson served the financial needs of Credit Union members for more than 20 years and is fondly remembered for her kindness and caring as she helped literally thousands of Credit Union families with essential economic guidance and financial assistance as they worked to build strength and stability in their lives. Edna and Willard Davidson served together as missionaries at the New Zealand Temple Visitor Center, Hamilton, New Zealand. And for the decade of the 1980's, Edna was a hostess and Willard was a guide at the Salt Lake City Temple Square Visitor Center. Edna Davidson loved good music and great literature. She raised her family in what is now the City of Holladay where for more than 50 years she and Willard tended their large yard and beautiful backyard park-like-gardens-in-the-gully until they moved to Nevada to live with daughter and son-in-law Dianne and Lynn Stewart. Thank you for posting this. I didn't realize she passed away. Did you attend the funeral?
No, the funeral and viewing were on Saturday while we were in the temple. I was sorry to miss seeing the relatives
Thanks for the posting. It helped seeing her picture, to put her with the right name. I saw Lorraine mention it on facebook--I am seeing benefits of multi-networking, but it takes time and committment to check often!
