Christmas 1942

A visual commentary on World War IIMy mother, Laura Carlson sent this Christmas card to her brother Daniel Davidson and his wife Mary, postmarked Dec 23, 1942. The typical Christmas card greeting inside reads: "CHRISTMAS Greetings may the coming year be filled with HAPPINESS" with a postscript greeting quote by Charles Dickens: "There seems a magic in the very name of Christmas."

There is no personal note. Laura signed it: Harold & Laura Alvin & Betty."
