Running this morning, slowly. Slow jogging for two miles out of three in 45 minutes. I discovered that it is easier to jog with the wind at your back than in your face. The advantage of going faster is that it takes less time. Obvious, but helpful.Wendy, my new friend in Alaska, says they walk all winter. I couldn't imagine it, as ice and snow makes for paranoid walking. "Oh," she said, "We wear cleats." Simple. Maybe.
I got some photos off homeexchange.com. They include these two winter photos, plus some that show much more clearly what it was like during my stay. Search for the home under Girdwood, Alaska. I will try to figure out how to add the summer photos to a web album.
